Stefano the owner and head chef and his son NicoOpened in 1998, we named the Restaurant after the home town of our Head Chef and Co-owner Stefano Lancellotti and is run by him and his wife Sara.

Sasso Marconi is a small town just outside Bologna in the Emilia Romagna Region of Italy. Sasso has featured in the Good Food Guide for the past 8 years, with many of Stefano’s signature dishes being singled out for special mention in the 2015 Guide, including tagliollini with sweet chorizo, prawns, roasted peppers and saffron.

Good Food Guide 2016 - 9th Year Running!

Independent inspectors in the 2016 Good Food Guide praises Stefano and his team’s “excellent hand-made pasta dishes” as well as picking out the restaurant fish of the day or rib-eye steak for special mention. Sasso is also praised for its lunch and pre-theatre menus for their “remarkable value”.

“Sasso Restaurant is a cut above most Italians in the area” says the guide.
