Sasso Restaurant is proud to announce that we are included in the UK’s prestigious food guide for the 10th year running.

We are celebrating a decade of featuring in the pages of The Good Food Guide, the definitive handbook of the very best restaurants and eateries across Britain.

For Sasso’s chef and owner Stefano Lancellotti, inclusion in the 2017 guide comes at a time when independent restaurants in Harrogate are facing a barrage of competition from multi-national chains.

“We are absolutely delighted to be included in The Good Food Guide for the 10th year in succession. It is a real honour for us,” said Stefano, who co-owns the restaurant with his wife Sara, and father-in-law Brian Ferguson.

“We are passionate about the food that we produce here at Sasso – we use only the best ingredients from both my home in Italy, and here in Yorkshire, and we work hard to ensure that everything that comes out of our kitchen is of the highest quality possible,” said Stefano.

“At a time when we are facing more and more competition from new restaurant chains, which appear almost weekly in Harrogate, we are delighted that the excellence of our food is recognised. Thank-you Good Food Guide,” he added.

Elizabeth Carter, Waitrose Good Food Guide Editor describes the restaurant as having “a special-occasion vibe, which is matched by genuinely charming and professional service.”

Ms Carter, who is celebrating 10 years at the helm of The Good Food Guide, praises Sasso’s home-made pasta – and gives special mention to the restaurant’s Parma ham and mortadella tortellini enriched with Parmesan and truffle fondue sauce, along with Sasso’ duck liver paté with orange creme caramel topping.

Sasso opened in Harrogate 18 years ago, and was joined a number of years later by sister coffee sho and pizzeria Caffé Marconi, also in Princes Square.

We host regular regional evenings in Sasso Restaurant, with diners enjoying meals from the different regions of Italy, and once a month, well-known Yorkshire swing singer Richard Daniels entertains while guests enjoy a two-or-three course Italian meal.
