About Sasso Restaurant & Caffe Marconi
A hidden jewel in Harrogate’s crown, Sasso Restaurant offers authentic Italian dining in a friendly and relaxed setting. Once you’ve visited, no other Italian restaurant will compare to the experience. Owned and managed by Stafano Lancellotti and his wife Sara, the restaurant is named after Stafano’s home town of Sasso Marconi. Nestled just outside of Bologna in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy, the town is famed for its exquisite fresh egg pasta. The wider region is renowned for its pork products, Grana Padana Parmesan cheese and Balsamic vinegar which is produced in the town of Ferrari.
Head chef Stefano designs his menus to reflect Emilia Romagna’s rich culinary traditions, using fresh and locally sourced ingredients alongside special imports such as Italian eggs for their authentic colours, flavours and textures. Pork products including Parma ham, Mortadella, sausage and pancetta are also strongly represented in the menus. Balsamic vinegar is a key balancing ingredient in many dishes and you will be invited to try some freshly grated parmesan cheese on your pasta/risotto dishes.
If it’s a light lunch, coffee and patisserie you’re seeking, visit Caffe Marconi. Just a few doors down, Sasso Restaurant’s sister venue promises the same authentic food and great service. Whether you want a quiet business meeting, a break from your shopping trip or you are meeting friends for a chat over a slice of pizza and a hot chocolate, Caffe Marconi is the perfect place.
